Indeed, considering the Special One was famed for rarely altering his starting XI whilst in charge of Chelsea, two changes from the line-up that beat Hull City in the Premier League before the international break has caught quite a few people off guard.
Summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan has come in for Juan Mata but perhaps the biggest surprise is the inclusion of Jesse Lingard, who hasn’t featured for United since scoring a stunner and subsequently limping off injured in the Community Shield final.
But a hardworking youngster who graduated from the club’s academy, Red Devils fans are mostly pleased to see him starting such an important game.
Jesse Lingard will give his absolute 100000% today and he will score… Local lad local hero

Imagine thinking Lingard wouldn't start in big games, he's a workhorse and will obviously do the job that Martial couldn't

Lingard's gonna become our new Park innit?

I am not Lingard's biggest fan but if José rates him that is good enough for me.

I'm gonna say 2-1 United! Ibra and lingard! #MUFC

However, some are a little more disappointed by Marcus Rashford missing out, despite bagging the winner against the Tigers and netting a hat-trick for England U21s in midweek.
Gutted Rashford isn't starting. Hopefully he'll get some decent playing time in the second half. Great chance for Mkhitaryan though.

With Martial being dropped to the bench, I think Rashford deserved a start over Lingard

Should've replaced Rooney for Rashford in my opinion.

Martial and Rashford will leave under Mourinho

What more does Rashford have to do, someone please tell me?!

Will Mourinho’s shock selections come back to haunt him? I guess we’ll find out at the final whistle.
