Manchester United striker Rob van Persie has agreed with the FA’s decision to look no further in to his clash with Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye at the weekend.
Van Persie angered Newcastle boss Alan Pardew in what appeared to be an off the ball elbow on Cabaye in United’s 3-0 win at St. James’ Park on Sunday.
Although the incident was not seen by referee Howard Webb, Pardew called for the FA to take action against the dutchman. But after looking over video footage, the FA have announced that no further action will be taken.
Van Persie told voetbal.nl: “I agree with the union.”
The 29-year-old striker has made an instant impact at Manchester United since his £24 million move from Premier League rivals Arsenal in August, and has said he is enjoying his time at Old Trafford.
“It’s fun and it’s going well. It’s a great challenge,” he said.
