United fans are calling for Mourinho to be sacked after Tottenham defeat

Manchester United fans on Twitter were fuming after their 3-0 loss to Tottenham on Monday evening and many were calling for Jose Mourinho to be sacked as manager just three games into the season.

United created chances in the first half and could have taken the lead if Romelu Lukaku could have found the back of an empty net after the Belgian striker latched onto a poor back pass from Danny Rose and rounded Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris.

However, just five minutes into the second half Harry Kane lost his marker Phil Jones from a corner and headed back across goal to put the visitors ahead. It was then that Mourinho’s side began to fall apart. Spurs broke freely through a disjointed midfield and terrorised the makeshift back three of Jones, Chris Smalling and Ander Herrera.

It was Herrera, playing out of position, who played Christian Eriksen onside for the Dane to pull the ball back to Lucas Moura, who duly swept in Tottenham’s second and created even more unrest among United fans. Moura then compounded Mourinho’s misery with a fantastic third which could have been avoided with some better defending.

United have just three points after their first three Premier League games and some fans have had enough already. Check out the best tweets below.
