Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia believes that team-mate Rafael’s improvement this season has been “incredible.”
The young Brazilian has been in fine form for the Premier League leaders this term, putting in a number of impressive displays to make the right-back berth his own.
Ever since his arrival at Old Trafford, the 22-year-old has been an attacking threat, but he has added defensive stability to his armoury this season.
Valencia celebrated his team-mate’s improvements, suggesting that if continues to develop at his current rate he could be one of the best full-backs in world football soon:
“It’s incredible how much he’s improved, I’ve seen a big improvement in his level of concentration.” He is quoted by Sky Sports.
“If he continues, it won’t be long before he’s one of the best right-backs in the world.”
Whilst Rafael has enjoyed a good campaign, Valencia has been less than impressive.
The Ecuadorian has struggled to force his way into the first-team, with niggling injuries preventing him from putting together a good run of form.
But, He is hoping to play more regularly during the latter stages of the season and help the team in their pursuit of silverware:
“I hope I’ve an important part to play between now and May. I hope I’m involved in as many games as I can.
“If picked, I’m determined to grab my opportunities and do my best for everyone.”
