The Wales international is understood to be one of the Red Devils’ top targets as they prepare to enter a ‘Galactico’ era, with vast sums set to be splashed on the world’s best players.
Bale himself only joined Real Madrid last year – and has gone on to win the Champions League – yet there have been suggestions that he could be lured back to the Premier League amid speculation that he no longer fits manager Carlo Ancelotti’s first-team plans.
And now it’s understood that the 25-year-old would consider a switch to Old Trafford at the end of the season.
United offered more than Real’s world record £86m for Bale last summer, but were unable to tie up a deal as the player himself had all but sealed a switch to the Bernabeu.
Real themselves are not ready to entertain the idea of selling until the end of the season, but may accept offers of above their outlay as they close in on a replacement in the form of Dortmund’s Marco Reus.
