Former Arsenal forward Paul Merson has tipped Tottenham Hotspur to beat Everton in Sunday’s Premier League clash at Goodison Park.
Tottenham have won each of their last three in the league to sit third, two points clear of fourth-placed Chelsea and five points ahead of fifth-placed Arsenal.
Everton, meanwhile, have collected 24 points from their 17 league fixtures this season to sit in eighth position in the table.

Everton have made strides forward under Marco Silva this season, but are without a win in their last four in England’s top flight, and have drawn their last two at home to Newcastle United and Watford.
Merson has said that Sunday’s affair will be ‘a hard game for both sides’, but the pundit has tipped Tottenham to record a 3-1 win on Merseyside.
Merson told Sky Sports News:
“This is a hard game for both sides. Everton are a team that never seem to get over the line and are in a bit of a bad patch at the moment.
“They won’t have to take the game to Tottenham; they seem to fall short in games where they’re expected to attack, like against Newcastle and Watford at Goodison.
“But if the game opens up, I think this will be Tottenham’s. I think their win at Arsenal is a massive confidence boost. It’ll be hard but I’ll go for Spurs.”
Everton’s next three in the league are against Tottenham, Burnley and Brighton & Hove Albion, while Spurs finish 2018 with matches against Everton, Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
