Football was shocked this week when Newcastle United’s Jonas Gutierrez announced that he was suffering with testicular cancer.
It is moments like this that you remember football is only a game and that it isn’t the be all and end all to grab three points on a Saturday. Therefore, it was great to see football unite in their support for the Argentina international.
Jonas’ Newcastle were taking on Hull City today and tensions won’t have been eased on Alan Pardew when the Magpies found themselves 2-0 down against Steve Bruce’s Hull City. However, Papiss Cisse gave Pardew some hope when he pulled a goal back and dedicated his strike to Jonas Gutierrez.
