It must be said, Newcastle United's stunning 4-3 victory over Norwich City on Wednesday evening really will be remembered as one of the results of the season.
Going into stoppage time 3-2 down, the Magpies looked down and out with the Canaries seeming destined to take top spot in the Championship. It was all going to plan for Alex Neil's side until Yoan Gouffran dragged them level before Dwight Gayle's effort stunned the travelling support.
And you couldn't help but feel a little sorry for the away supporters, who, to be fair to them, had come a long way to see their hopes crushed in the final moments of the match. But, that's football, and there always needs to be a winner - this time, it was Newcastle's turn to take the spoils.
In all honesty, Rafa Benitez's side must be in with a shout for the title now after the stunning victory, but the result goes head and shoulders above just putting three points on the board. It's a result that shows just how much character Benitez has instilled in this current crop of players. It shows the togetherness the squad has as a whole and just how good they will be at grinding out results as the season progresses.
But, more than anything, it showed just how far the team have come along - just think of the players we've seen head through the famous St James' Park gates in the past couple of years. Would the likes of Emmanuel Riviere, Moussa Sissoko or Florian Thauvin have been able to turn a game like this around? Probably not, no.
Some people started to call out Rafa's choices in the transfer market during the summer, but you've got to admire the Spaniard now and his decisions are beginning to pay off. As well as distinct quality, he's got some real scrappers in his squad with Dwight Gayle being one of the most impressive. He scores goals, chases things down and quite simply gives his all until the final whistle.
And these are the sorts of players that Newcastle have been missing over the past couple of years. Those players that are capable of bringing a game back from the death to turn it in their team's favour. And against Norwich, Newcastle huffed and puffed until they hauled themselves over the finish line.
It was a performance full of character and togetherness and for the passionate Geordies in the stands, all they want to see is a side give their all on the pitch. For years they've seen sub-standard players who are there for a big paycheque grace the famous North East turf.
But now it seems like they have a squad that is willing to fight for the right to wear the shirt.
There was a famous number 9 who deserved it more than anyone ever before, and, finally, we're seeing some of that grit in this current batch of players.
