Newcastle United have had their fair share of problems over the last five months.

Once again, club owner Mike Ashley failed to front up significant funds for the summer transfer window.

Plus, Rafael Benitez and his team were winless in their first 11 games in all competitions.

The tide has turned somewhat in that the Magpies have won their last two fixtures against Watford and Bournemouth.

However, during the international break, left-back Paul Dummett suffered an injury while making his first start for Wales in a Nations League match against Denmark.

The extent of the 27-year-old's issue is unknown, but he has been sent back to Newcastle for assessment.

If Dummett is ruled out of the club's next game, which is against Burnley on November 26, then Benitez will have to either pick a replacement or tinker with his team.

The first option is Javier Manquillo, but he is traditionally a right-sided player and is yet to impress in a Newcastle shirt.

Achraf Lazaar may have to be welcomed in from the cold to take Dummett's place, while Kenedy is also a candidate.

Failing that, Benitez could make a change in formation by playing three centre-backs, with Kenedy and DeAndre Yedlin as wing-backs.
