Midfielder enforcer key to Newcastle’s turnaround, says Colback

As reported by Here Is The City, Newcastle summer signing Jack Colback has pinpointed fellow midfielder Moussa Sissoko as the driving force behind the Toon outfit’s recent successes.

The France international is yet to record a goal or an assist in the Premier League this season, but nonetheless, Colback believes his performances have been vital since the start of the campaign.

“He is a real driving force for the team and someone who helps you get up the pitch when the game is maybe a bit scrappy,” the 25 year-old recently told Newcastle’s official website.

“In the last few games especially, Moussa has been fantastic.

“He’s got great ability on the ball, great physical strength and power, and can get out of certain situations that look almost impossible.

“We’ve got others like that too, and a lot of pace in the side, especially on the counter-attack. We have also become really solid and that has been the foundation on our recent success.”

Alan Pardew appears to agree, calling upon the former Toulouse midfielder to start in every Premier League fixture for the Magpies this season and only subbing him off against Southampton in August.

The Newcastle gaffer will want Sissoko to continue his strong form this afternoon as his side welcome relegation battlers Queens Park Rangers to St. James’ Park.
