Aleksandar Mitrovic failed to maintain a regular spot in the Newcastle United team for the first half of the season.

As a result of Rafael Benitez not including the forward in his team on a weekly basis, a deal was struck with Fulham.

The Serbian is spending the second half of the 2017-18 campaign on loan at the Championship outfit, and he seems to be enjoying himself so far.

Mitrovic has found the back of the net three times in three matches for the Cottagers, who are unbeaten in their last 13 league games and have won 10 on the trot.

Last season, the 23-year-old was part of the Newcastle team that earned promotion to the Premier League by winning the second tier.

The forward made 25 appearances, 11 of which were starts, and found the back of the net four times and created six assists.

According to the Daily Mail, Mitrovic has suggested that Fulham are in better shape than Newcastle were this time last season.

“It’s a different style we play here. The players enjoy the football more than last season with Newcastle, where we knew how we wanted to play, we always played on the results — that’s it. This season, this team, we always try to score more goals than the opponent. Newcastle was more tactically [set up]. We didn’t play as much attacking football as we play now. Obviously, it worked because Newcastle were promoted last season. I hope we are promoted again with Fulham.”
