Two Premier League sides in the shape of Everton and Newcastle United are set to step up attempts to sign Burnley defender Michael Keane, reports the Daily Star.
The former Man United ace has impressed during his time at Turf Moor, despite facing relegations with the Clarets last season.
The 22-year old is a regular at England under-21 level, and a product of the Red Devils’ youth academy – winning Reserve Player of the Year in 2012.
With Everton defender John Stones the subject of multiple transfer bids from Chelsea, boss Roberto Martinez could be willing to make a January swoop.
Newcastle manager Steve McClaren is also thought to be keen on the player, who he managed at Derby when the two were last together.
Keane, whose brother Will is still on the books at Old Trafford, made a single first-team appearance for the Manchester side after previously playing for the likes of Leicester, Derby and Blackburn.
