Burnley defender Michael Keane is being tracked by Premier League sides Newcastle and Everton, as reported by the Daily Star.
The former Manchester United youngster impressed during his side’s Premier League campaign last year, and has continued his good form despite relegation to the Championship.
Three goals in four games for the England under-21 ace has seen reports emerge indicating both Roberto Martinez and Steve McClaren have come to watch the 22-year old in action so far this season.
Current Magpies boss McClaren coached the player during their time together at Derby, where the centre-back played on loan for three months during the 2013-14 season.
A product of Manchester United’s youth academy, the defender made his league debut for the side during last season’s clash with Sunderland, before joining Sean Dyche’s squad, initially on loan.
He had previously been a fixture in the Red Devils’ reserve squad, winning the Reserve Team Player of the Year in 2012.
McClaren currently has Fabricio Coloccini, Chancel Mbemba, Steven Taylor and Mike Williamson to field as centre-halves, but could make a move for the Burnley man once the transfer window reopens.
