Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez insists his club still have time to beat the drop despite their devastating loss to Norwich City, according to BBC Sport.
The Spaniard is yet to win as Toon boss and watched his side twice come from behind away against the Canaries, only to have their hopes shattered by a sensational last minute home winner.
It now leaves the beleaguered North East giants six points off safety with just seven games remaining.
However, the former Real Madrid and Liverpool coach still believes there is enough time for them to turn things around and avoid a second relegation under the ownership of Mike Ashley.
‘It is more difficult but we have to keep confident that we can still do it’, stated the Magpies chief after the huge loss.
‘We have seven games to go and we have to keep pushing. If we start winning games we still have time.’
Despite an investment of over £80m across the last two transfer windows, it has been yet another miserable season for the Tyneside titans.
They have been close to the drop zone for pretty much the entirety of the campaign and face a difficult trip to Southampton next week.
