Newcastle will continue to monitor Hamburg striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports from The Chronicle.
The Magpies were linked with the 23-year-old forward over the summer, but failed to make a move for him before the deadline passed.
And even though the North East side snapped up an attacking addition in the shape of Aleksandar Mitrovic, reports claim that they’re still interested in Lasogga.
It’s believed that Newcastle want to add another source of goals to their ranks in 2016 and that the 11-cap Germany U-21 international is seen as the perfect player to come in due to his physicality.
Lasogga – valued at £9m by Hamburg – was in line to move to St James’ Park if Newcastle were able to offload Papiss Cisse ahead of the transfer deadline, but there were no satisfactory bids received for the Senegalese star.
