Newcastle fans are furious with referee appointment

Anthony Taylor will referee Monday night’s Premier League clash between Burnley and Newcastle United at Turf Moor.

The Manchester-born official was the man in the middle when Newcastle suffered a 3-2 defeat at Manchester United earlier this season.

And it would be fair to say that the Newcastle fans are unhappy with the appointment.

Taylor, 40, has already officiated in the Champions League and UEFA Nations League this season, and has brandished 61 yellow cards in his 17 games during the 2018-19 campaign.

Newcastle will be looking for their third straight Premier League win on Monday having overcome Watford and Bournemouth in their last two fixtures.

And Rafael Benitez’s side will fancy their chances of beating a Burnley team that sit in 15th, with seven defeats in their 12 league matches this term.
