Newcastle United fans are not enjoying reports that Manchester United are closing in on a summer move for midfielder Sean Longstaff.
The Mirror reported on Friday that the Old Trafford side are confident of sealing a £25m deal for the player during the transfer window, with a potential takeover of the Magpies not a barrier to the move.

The paper reckon that Longstaff fits the signing profile of players that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for, being a young British talent with high potential who can improve and grow in Manchester.
Newcastle fans though obviously feel he is a player that can be built around in a new era at St James’ Park, impressed by his early career performances in the top-flight last season.
The report has left many dejected, feeling that the club should be rejecting any and all bids for the promising 21-year-old.
These supporters have taken to Twitter over the last 48 hours to share their thoughts on it all…

I know he’s barely started his career but even I would knock back £25m for Longstaff. He’s a player we could build our team around if he really makes his mark next season. #nufc

By today’s standards he’s worth a lot more than £25 million too.

1 . He’ll only get better
2. He would be replaced under Ashley with a player with a quarter of his potential.
3. He loves this club .
4. Man Utd would flog him to Madrid within a year for £200 million.

Absolutely no chance we should be selling him if he does go then believe me they’ll be a hell of a lot of fans will be rioting & we’ll be back as a stepping stone yet again I don’t want to see that I want us to compete once & for all & if Ashley can’t do that then sell up

We shouldn’t consider selling him at any price.
Bringing through local talent should be a basis of our club. Not just so we can make a fast buck on them. We should be cherishing Geordie kids playing in black and white. Sadly tho i fear he will be sold to line the FCB’s pockets.

People who said yes clearly don’t know loyalty or know football , such a great talent and can easily build our team round him
