Newcastle fans are all saying the same thing after a report about their club’s potential Premier League windfall - that it will all go in Mike Ashley’s pocket.

It’s a pretty great time to be a Newcastle fan right now, as Rafael Benitez’s Magpies are absolutely flying up the table.

After impressive wins against relegation rivals Southampton and Huddersfield, the Toon Army no longer have relegation rivals, as they are now the same amount of points (13) away from the top six as they are from the bottom three.

According to a report in the Shields Gazette, Newcastle could earn a whopping £121.5million from the season, assuming they don’t completely capitulate.

Premier League teams each receive equal shares of certain parts of the Premier League’s huge TV deal, but other payments are related to how many games are broadcasted and of course final league position.

For example, champions Chelsea earned £150,811,183 last season, while Sunderland grabbed £93,471,118

Despite the brilliance on the pitch, fans are still wary of their ownership, and practically every fan will be praying the club is sold this summer.

Ashley has taken plenty of flak for his failure to invest in the squad since taking over in 2007, and fans are already annoyed by the reports of their club’s huge cash windfall, because they can’t see it escaping from Ashley’s pocket.
