Newcastle fans have been reacting to a shock transfer development, as Sky Sports claim the Magpies have rejected a bid for Jamaal Lascelles.
According to Sky Sports, West Ham are chasing Lascelles, but the Tyneside club have rejected a £20m bid.
The report claims a Newcastle source has said the player is not for sale, but fans are understandably worried given the deals Mike Ashley has made in the past.
The Magpies’ infamous owner simply has to back Rafael Benitez in the transfer market this summer, something he hasn’t done since the Spaniard arrived at St. James’.

Signing Kenedy is an excellent starting point, but losing Lascelles would set any progress right back, and destroy the heart and soul of the team.
The skipper is a fan favourite not just because of his performances on the pitch but because of his leadership and passion, and they’re absolutely desperate to keep hold of him.
The 24 year-old, who averaged an incredible seven clearances per game last season, has been linked with moves away all summer, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions to the latest bid down below…

If we sold a key player to the likes of West Ham our club is dead

That should just about pay for 1 leg, what about the rest of him ?

Lascelles may well leave one day, all us NUFC fans understand that, but it would be to a Champions League team, not a club like West Ham.

Try again and come back with offers of 75 mil+, 20 mil is a very insulting bid.
