Loads of Newcastle fans have been reacting to their defeat at West Ham, and they’re extremely disappointed by fan favourite Florian Lejeune.

Newcastle look geared to make a similar run as they did last season, as the Magpies soared up the table in the second half of the last campaign after a really poor start.

Rafael Benitez’s side suffered from a similarly poor start this season, due mainly to some really tough opening fixtures, but have returned to form since Lejeune returned from a knee injury.

The towering French centre back, who joined the Tyneside outfit for a fee of around £8.7m in the summer of 2017, has been phenomenal since stepping back into the side, and had only lost twice in eight showings before Saturday’s trip to West Ham.

The Magpies were beaten all too easily in East London on Saturday evening though, as Declan Rice and Mark Noble gave the Hammers a 2-0 win.

Lejeune looked sluggish throughout, culminating in a really poor tackle on Javier Hernandez that gifted West Ham a penalty – Noble made no mistakes from the spot.

The 27 year-old has a lot of credit in the bank with the Toon Army, but the Twitter reactions down below do not make pretty reading…
