According to the Mirror, Fulham’s Tom Cairney could be available for £20million this summer, and Newcastle fans are split on whether their club should move for the midfielder.

The Mirror claims that Fulham will sell Cairney this summer if they fail to get promoted. The Cottagers are currently seven points off the automatic promotion places, after their 2-2 draw with QPR on Saturday.

West Ham and Watford are reportedly also interested in the 27 year-old Scotland international, who has been in fantastic form during Fulham’s impressive run.

Newcastle have been linked with several central midfielders in recent weeks, as Rafa Benitez looks to find a long term partner for Jonjo Shelvey. Mikel Merino hasn’t massively impressed on Tyneside, and Mo Diame will be 31 this summer.

Cairney has grabbed three goals and four assists from midfield in the Championship this season, and scored a lovely goal in the draw with QPR this weekend.

Of course, Fulham are currently enjoying plenty of goals from Newcastle loanee Aleksandar Mitrović, and fans can’t agree on whether getting Cairney from the same club would be a good move or not.
