According to The Sun, Newcastle United winger Matt Ritchie could return to Bournemouth this summer in a deal that would see Josh King move in the opposite direction.

Ritchie, who scored three times and registered six assists in 35 Premier League appearances last season, moved to Newcastle from Bournemouth in the summer of 2016.

Cherries forward King has been linked with a move to Newcastle over the last few months, with the former Manchester United youngster scoring eight Premier League goals last term.

According to The Sun, a swap deal is in the offing this summer, with Ritchie returning to the Vitality Stadium, and King making the switch to Newcastle.

The Newcastle fans have been reacting to the speculation on social media, and it would be fair to say that they are desperate for Ritchie to remain at St James' Park this summer.

Indeed, the attacker, who is valued at £10.8m by transfermarkt.co.uk, was one of the team's most consistent performers during the 2017-18 Premier League season.
