Dwight Gayle joined West Bromwich Albion on loan from Newcastle United during the summer, and he has been quite outstanding for the Baggies this term.
Indeed, Gayle has managed four goals and five assists in seven Championship appearances for West Brom, which is some record at this stage.
The 27-year-old moved to West Brom as part of the deal that took Salomon Rondon to Newcastle, but whilst Rondon has struggled, Gayle has thrived.
Gayle has more than proved himself in the second tier of English football, but there are still concerns over his ability at Premier League level.
Indeed, he only managed six Premier League goals for the Magpies last term, and also struggled for regular goals during his time at Crystal Palace.
The Newcastle fans have been on social media discussing Gayle, and whilst some want him back, others feel that the forward has found his level in the Championship.
A selection of the Twitter reaction from the club’s supporters can be seen below:
I really don’t get it. #Mitro destroyed the championship second half last season and everyone on here says “he’s found his level” 🤷🏻♂️Gayle scores a few and everyone moans about him being away and we need him back! 🤦🏻♂️
