According to The Chronicle, Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose has emerged as a potential transfer target for Newcastle United.

Indeed, the report claims that Rose is 'on Steve Bruce's list of possibilities' as the Magpies look to further improve their squad ahead of the new campaign.

Rose is free to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer and was left out of the London club's pre-season squad with the view to discussing a switch away from Spurs.

The defender has established himself as one of the top left-backs in English football in recent years, thriving at Spurs while competing for a starting berth alongside Ben Davies.

In response to the report, the Toon Army have given their thoughts of the situation on social media, and it's fair to say not everyone is convinced.

Naturally, many of the club's supporters would be in favour of the 27-time England international arriving at St James' Park in this summer's transfer window.

However, others have played down the speculation as they do not feel that their club will be able to sort out a deal.
