Newcastle fans have been reacting rather strangely to a positive update on Rafael Benitez, as the Chronicle claims there has been no approach from West Ham for the Magpies boss.
According to Lee Ryder, chief sports writer for the Chronicle, West Ham have not made an official approach for Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez.
The two clubs’ fans have been sparring back and forth over the rumours of West Ham’s interest in the Spaniard, and Newcastle fans seemed convinced he would not move to a smaller club.
They seem to be fearing the worst now though, as fans are reacting negatively to what seems like a positive update from Ryder.
Benitez is of course locking horns with Newcastle owner Mike Ashley over a new contract and more importantly what he’ll be allowed to spend this summer, and fans are getting nervous over the lack of concrete news on a new deal.
While it is surely a good sign that no official talks have taken place with West Ham, fans are fearing the worst, mainly because they simply have no faith in Mike Ashley to do the right thing.

If he goes it will be a disaster.

I fear the worse, he will leave and the club will be down the drain again

There has no progress in Rafa’s contract talks for almost a month. If Ashley was going to back Rafa he’d have done it by now. So Rafa will leave the club there will plenty of clubs who want him.

Unless Mike Ashley and lee charnley sit down with Rafa and tell him what there objectives and what direction the club is going . It’s a matter of time before he walks . Probably not West Ham but at some point he’s go to get feed up of being messed around .
