Newcastle fans were delighted with the loan signing of Kenedy, but they’re getting slightly annoyed by all the money being spent by teams around them.
Magpies supporters finally got some good news when the signing of Kenedy was announced on Thursday morning, but the arrival of Jean Seri at Fulham has fans bashing Mike Ashley again.
Wolves have of course earned promotion off the back of some big spending, and the Premier League newcomers have already added two seasoned internationals this summer in Rui Patricio and Raul Jimenez.
Fulham have now added their name to the list of teams outspending the Magpies, smashing their transfer record on Thursday by completing a £25m move for Seri.
The Cottagers are also the front-runners to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic, which will only add insult to injury when the infamous Ashley inevitably decides not to reinvest the funds from the sale.
Newcastle have yet to break the transfer record they set on Michael Owen over a decade ago, and the spending from other teams is really starting to annoy fans.
The Magpies have completed three signings this summer for a combined total of around £4m, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
Fulham spending double our transfer-record on their first signing after promotion is a sad indictment of how Rafa must run through hoops and shop for bargains just to try and compete with these clubs.

It’s very simple
Our current squad, led by Rafa, finished 10th with minimum spend.
Rafa and fans alike want to kick on from there, invest and build. Unfortunately the fat shopkeeper does not and it’s his train set.
If anything in Ashley’s eyes we’ve over achieved. #nufc

Someone should investigate Ashley for money laundering.A certainty to finish bottom of net spend league.

It’s hard to think where the hell the cash coming in actually goes, it’s pretty ridiculous, can’t sign townsend til Richie is sold.. Prob can’t sign striker til mitro goes.. Literally spending nothing..

Ashley’s outlook is why should I spend £100m when I know Rafa can keep us up for a tenth of that…. therein lies the 11 year old problem
