A number of Newcastle United fans have taken to social media to lavish praise on the performance of Allan Saint-Maximin in Saturday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth.

The 22-year-old is still waiting for his first goal for the club but there is no getting away from the fact that he contributed to his team's 2-1 win over the Cherries.

According to WhoScored, before being replaced in the final exchanges, Saint-Maximin had two shots, completed four successful dribbles and made two tackles.

He is a threat with his pace and power even if the end product isn't always there.

And many of the Newcastle fans were impressed with the performance of the attacker, who scored 11 times in 74 games for Nice ahead of a switch to St James' Park.

Things are starting to look up at Newcastle courtesy of back-to-back wins, and the club's supporters seem to have found a new hero.
