England booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the 2018 World Cup courtesy of a penalty-shootout victory over Colombia on Tuesday night.
Yerry Mina cancelled out a Harry Kane spot kick to leave the two teams on terms, but England triumphed on penalties to book their position in the last eight, where they will face Sweden on Saturday afternoon.
Newcastle United’s Jamaal Lascelles was amongst the players believed to have been in the thoughts of England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of the tournament, but the centre-back was ultimately left at home.
The decision was criticised by the Newcastle fans at the time, and it seems that the majority still think that Lascelles should be with the England squad at this summer’s tournament.

Gary Cahill and Phil Jones are amongst those acting as back-up to Kyle Walker, John Stones and Harry Maguire, but Lascelles should be there in the eyes of the Newcastle fans.
