According to Sky Sports News, new Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce is preparing to sit down with Sean Longstaff in the coming days.
Longstaff, who broke into the first team last season, has been linked with a move to Manchester United in this summer’s transfer window.
However, according to Sky Sports News, the midfielder “is excited” to play under Bruce.
The Newcastle fans, though, are not convinced.
It has been a tough period for the supporters, who have had to watch the incredibly popular Rafael Benitez move on after failing to agree a new contract.
Bruce has since taken charge of the Magpies, who are in for a very interesting season.

Sky Sports News have suggested that Longstaff wants to stay at St James’ Park despite the turmoil, but the club’s fans are finding it difficult to believe that the 21-year-old is looking forward to turning out for the new head coach.
A selection of the Twitter reaction to the report can be seen below:
Longstaff is excited to play for the club, I highly doubt he, or anyone, is excited at the prospect of playing for Steve Bruce.
