A number of Newcastle United fans have been reacting to suggestions that Orjan Nyland could start for Aston Villa when the two teams lock horns in the Premier League later this month.
Nyland made his Premier League debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend with Jed Steer being forced off in the early exchanges of the clash at Molineux.
Villa have not put a timescale on Steer’s return, but quotes attributed to Nyland – who spoke to the Norwegian media, as translated by BirminghamLive – have suggested that the number two goalkeeper is facing a long period on the sidelines.
Nyland also claimed that Villa’s number one Tom Heaton would be out for “two to three weeks”, hinting that he will start against Newcastle on November 25.
And it would be fair to say that the Magpies supporters are relishing the prospect of taking on a goalkeeper who is very, very inexperienced at the top level.

#AVFC will be without both Tom Heaton and Jed Steer for Newcastle’s visit on November 25.
Ørjan Nyland set to start.
The latter is the Norwegian international 2nd keeper. He’s alright, but prone to errors. We need to shoot, a lot. #NUFC— NUFC 360 (@NUFC360) November 14, 2019
