Matt Doherty scored a 94th-minute winner as Wolverhampton Wanderers recorded a 2-1 victory over Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

It did appear that the points would be shared at St James' Park after Ayoze Perez had cancelled out an effort from Diogo Jota.

Doherty had other ideas, however, with the defender popping up with a late winner to make it a very frustrating result for the Newcastle fans.

There were some positives, however, with the performance of Salomon Rondon being one.

Rondon was very impressive during his 86 minutes on the field - keeping the Wolves defence busy with his movement and hold-up work, while he provided the cross for Perez to level the scores.

The 6ft 1in striker, who is on loan at Newcastle from West Bromwich Albion, has just started to prove his worth in recent weeks.

And despite it being a frustrating final result for Newcastle, the club's supporters were pleased with the performance of Rondon.
