According to De Telegraaf in the Netherlands, Newcastle United have been handed a setback in the pursuit of Feyenoord striker Nicolai Jorgensen.
An initial offer of £12.7million was rejected by the Rotterdam based club earlier this week. And now, Feyenoord are looking for an offer in the region of £22million before they allow their star striker to depart De Kuip.
Newcastle meanwhile are in desperate need of additions to a squad that looks remarkably similar to the one that played in the Championship last season.
Rafael Benitez cuts an increasingly more frustrated figure on the touchline with each passing game and Mike Ashley seems to be nowhere closer to selling the club. In truth, it is a bit of a mess on Tyneside.
With the team in desperate need of reinforcements, especially in attacking departments, Newcastle fans could not hide their frustrations at the setback in the bid to lure the £13.5million rated Jorgensen to the club…
Massive difference there….can't see @NUFC paying the €25m… just DO IT and get our man!

So they now know the price, either they want him or they don’t. £20-£22m is what they need to offer. It’s not rocket science ffs

If we don’t sign him charnley and Ashley are a disgrace

€25 million for Jorgensen pay the money we don't have the time to be messing about with prices left it too late as it is #NUFC

Messing about with this Jorgensen lad, putting in token bids they know full won’t be accepted. They’ll sign NOBODY, nor have they any intention of doing so. The atmosphere could get very ugly at home to Burnley next Wednesday night.. #nufc #Ashleyout

Jorgensen may not be the name we were all wanting but if he does come for £20m & scores the goals that keeps us up he'll be worth every penny #NUFC
