According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle United are keen on Manchester United centre-back Axel Tuanzebe ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
The report does not actually mention the word ‘loan’, but the fact that the 21-year-old only signed a new contract with United earlier this summer suggests that the Red Devils would only be open to a short-term exit.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side would allegedly be prepared to allow Tuanzebe to leave this summer providing that Harry Maguire arrives from Leicester City.
It is not exactly an ideal situation for Newcastle as they could face a long wait for Tuanzebe before potentially missing out at the final moment.
The defender has been regularly involved for United during pre-season, but could fall further down the pecking order if Maguire arrived at Old Trafford.

That would be a loan if true.
Man United would never sell him.

I’m sure they rate him so it will be a loan plus our club is a joke so spending money is something they love to avoid doing

Hopefully he’s an upgrade. We’d still need a LB, striker & Winger imo

Can we focus on any other position than CB/GK please ??♂️

Never ever happening
If we can sell Clark and replace him with axel then that’s good business.

Getting boring now of players this club is linked with when we all know Charnley moves at a corpse pace on deals.
— Roman (@AndrewK67647299) July 31, 2019
Sounds like a lazy link given he played under Bruce last season and would be 5th/6th best CB

Easy to start rubbish rumors like this when it is reported that Maguire’s deal is falling through.

Tuanzebe is a decent young player and he’s worked with Bruce before, but I can’t see this happening. He’s currently the 2nd best CB at Man U and he’d not displace any of our first choice back 3. #NUFC https://t.co/R1DaloAe5I
