Loads of Newcastle fans have been reacting to the latest transfer news, as the Magpies are set to secure the signing of Yoshinori Muto.
According to Sky Sports, Newcastle have agreed a £9.5m deal to sign Mainz striker Muto.
The Japanese international scored ten goals in all competitions last season, and will replace Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is expected to join Fulham.
The Mainz sporting director has confirmed the two clubs have reached an agreement over a fee, so the deal should be wrapped up pretty promptly.
Rafael Benitez has been crying out for a marquee striker signing this summer, and while Muto definitely isn’t that, he has the technical ability and work ethic to be a big hit on Tyneside.
He played 80 minutes in the impressive Japanese World Cup side, and will be the Magpies’ fifth summer signing after Martin Dubravka, Kenedy, Ki Sung-yeung and Fabian Schar.

Have never seen Mutō play tbh but after watching a few YouTube videos, in my opinion he is probably the best striker in the Premier League.

I get the impression he is similar to Okazaki? Which in my book is no bad thing!

Not Prem proven at all and could be to weak. Basically his position is winger and not CF according to Mainz supporters. Is this the solution of our forward problem then?

Like a Perez/Gayle hybrid.

So he’s a Japanese version of Joselu?
