Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy scored his second goal in three Championship appearances for loan side West Bromwich Albion in their 3-2 win against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday, and Magpies fans were quick to react on Twitter.

The Baggies signed the 23-year-old on a temporary basis until the end of the campaign during the January transfer window, and his start at Loftus Road was his fourth on the bounce for Darren Moore’s men.

The former Norwich City player put the visitors 2-1 ahead in the 61st minute with a brilliant low finish into the far corner from the right-hand side of the penalty area, to help them keep up the pressure in the automatic promotion race.

Meanwhile, the Tyneside outfit have the likes of Matt Ritchie, Kenedy, Christian Atsu and new boy Miguel Almiron on the wings in the run-in as they look to avoid being embroiled in a Premier League relegation battle.

Newcastle supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on Murphy finding the net again, and while one claimed “he’s better than Ritchie and Kenedy”, another said “hopefully this proves to be a turning point”.
