Lots of Newcastle fans have been reacting to Monday’s biggest story, as Rafael Benitez has been named as one of three candidates to take over at Leicester.
Leicester surprised few by sacking Claude Puel on Sunday morning, and they are already lining up the Frenchman’s replacement.
According to Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett, Benitez is among the leading candidates to take over at the King Power Stadium, alongside Roberto Martinez and Brendan Rodgers.

The Foxes lost 4-1 at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday evening, and the manager appeared to have lost the players well before then.
Benitez meanwhile has led a Newcastle resurgence since the turn of the year, upsetting Manchester City before picking up crucial wins against Cardiff and Huddersfiled.
The Spaniard is always a huge source of speculation though, due of course to his frosty relationship with club owner Mike Ashley.
Benitez has a 42 per cent win ratio on Tyneside, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
Can be a good thing, hoping it’ll force Mike Ashley to show his hand

Why would Rafa go to Leicester? Last 3 managers all sacked after 6 consecutive defeats. If he leaves he’ll go to somewhere like China. Don’t see any of the big European clubs being interested. He approached Newcastle – we just need to force Ashley’s hand – sell or spend

Don’t think @NUFC would’ve sanctioned the Almirón transfer if they didn’t want Rafa to be here next season.. With a decent transfer budget he could raise the valuation of the club by cementing us into a top 10 side.

This is good for us as fans! Put’s the ball well and truely into Ashley’s court. Could you imagine the uproar if we were to lose Rafa to Leicester because our owner wont part with TV money that belongs to the club!

Logically it won’t be Rafa but money talks. I’d put it less than 10% chance though.
– he’s settled here
– he’s loved here, fans won’t turn on him for losing 6 in a row, at Leicester they will hound out.
– Hes got Almiron & Longstaff coming through improving us immensely.
