Newcastle United are now officially without a head coach as the club have not yet found a fitting replacement for their now ex-gaffer, Rafael Benitez.
And while the Spaniard already has a new job all lined up and officially confirmed, the newest reports coming out from the Northern Echo claim that Neil Redfearn, who was promoted to the position of U-23s head coach only last month, could take over the team as they set out to their pre-season exhibitions.
The same source also claims that if all goes well and Redfearn does a decent job during his time in charge, he could very well then be in line for the manager’s role on an interim basis.
And while this does solve their managerial problems, the Toon Army were quick to show how they feel about this news and it’s safe to say that they weren’t happy, at all.
You can see some of their reactions in the tweets below…
Neil Redfearn, who was promoted to the position of U-23s head coach last month, is set to take control of the early part of #NUFC‘s pre-season programme. If he impresses there, he could find himself handed the managerial reins on an interim basis. https://t.co/HE15JL5rhB

How is he going to compete with klop and Co in the Premier league?? The only way it could be worse is if they put shola in charge.

A walking disaster. Even in his playing days he never played for a club that didn’t get relegated.
