Newcastle fans react as the Magpies secure club-record deal for Miguel Almiron

Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter delightedly after the Magpies confirmed a club-record deal to sign Paraguay star Miguel Almiron from Major League Soccer champions Atlanta United, for a reported fee of around £20m according to the BBC.

24-year-old Almiron scored 13 goals and recorded 13 assists last season as Atlanta won the MLS Cup (via the Magpies’ official site), and he arrives on a five-and-a-half year deal that will be sure to lift spirits around St James’ Park.
