Newcastle fans react to Atsu fitness update

Newcastle United’s Christian Atsu recently posted a video on social media as the attacker works his way back to fitness following a knee operation.

Atsu made 28 Premier League appearances for the Magpies last season, but missed his team’s final six matches of the campaign after undergoing knee surgery.

The 26-year-old has struggled with knee issues over the last three years, but the operation is expected to correct the problem, and he is building towards the 2018-19 campaign.

Atsu spent four years on Chelsea’s books, but never played a Premier League game for the Blues – spending time on loan at Vitesse, Everton, Bournemouth and Malaga before making the move to Newcastle.

The Ghana international showed signs of his best form last term, and the Newcastle fans are looking forward to seeing the attacker in action next season.

It was not much of a surprise to see the positive responses from the Newcastle supporters to the video, and it must be said that Atsu looks in good shape ahead of the new campaign.
