A late Willy Boly header earned Wolves a point against Newcastle United at Molineux on Monday night. Rafa Benitez will have been gutted to see his side lose their lead in such a fashion, but will generally be proud of their display.

The equaliser itself was shrouded in some controversy, as Boly arguably fouled the Magpies’ goalkeeper, Martin Dubravka, on his way to heading the ball in. Defensively, though, questions must be asked of the Toon Army. Fabian Schar, in particular, should have done more to challenge the rising Wolves man.

The Switzerland international had an eventful game all round. Whilst he was at times sloppy in possession, and arguably culpable for the goal conceded late on, he also provided one of the stand out moments of the match.

Early in the second half, the 27-year-old broke forward from the defence with the ball at his feet and ran at the Wolves rearguard. He then slid through a perfectly weighted pass for Isaac Hayden to latch onto, who then slammed the ball home to give the Tyneside outfit the lead.
