It does appear that Miguel Almiron will leave Atlanta United in January, but the destination of the Paraguay international is up in the air.
Newcastle United have been strongly linked with a move, although Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are also believed to be interested.
The 24-year-old has managed 13 goals and 13 assists in his last 35 appearances for Atlanta, and it is not a surprise that a number of clubs are interested.
Almiron’s agent has recently been quoted as saying that he and and his client were in attendance for Newcastle’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth at the weekend.
According to ChronicleLive, there is genuine interest from Newcastle, although the Magpies will face a battle to sign the South American.
The Newcastle fans have been on social media offering their views on the latest developments, and many feel that their club will miss out on the 5ft 9in ace.

If Ashley is still the owner we will have to sell Shelvey and loan Ayoze the other way to get him on loan. When have we ever secured a target identified early under Ashley’s reign? #AshleyOut #ridusoftheparasite
