Despite playing a major part in helping Newcastle United back in to the top flight, Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is valued at £9million by Transfermarkt, has been unable to break into the first team at St. James’s Park this season.

The imposing striker has managed just 3 appearances from the substitutes bench so far this campaign, equating to just 49 minutes of Premier League football.

Rafael Benitez seemingly does not believe that the 23-year-old warrants a place in his squad at the moment and it appears that the Serbian striker may be losing his patience with the club.

This was confirmed in an interview with the Shields Gazette on Tuesday when Mitrovic made his feelings clear;

“I’m patient, but we will see. My patience is almost to the end, so we will see. I want to play. I want to be on the pitch. I’m patient, but we will see.”

“Newcastle is in my heart, and even if I maybe go somewhere, Newcastle will be in my heart. I hope I will stay here, but we will see what happens.”

Upon hearing his comments, Newcastle fans took to Twitter to express their hopes that the much-loved striker will be given a chance to start…
