Newcastle fans slam club in response to U-23s update

Premiership Picks

Loads of Newcastle fans have been reacting to an update on their Under-23 side, who have endured a similarly horrific start to the campaign as the first-team.

Steve Bruce’s side were not just beaten by newly promoted Norwich on Saturday; they were completely outclassed.

The Magpies looked lost as the likes of Teemu Pukki and Todd Cantwell ran riot in the final third, and the former was unfortunate not to score even more than his hat-trick considering the amount of chances the Canaries created.

However, Bruce isn’t the only manager on Tyneside that fans are unhappy with, as Neil Redfearn’s U-23s were beaten 2-1 by West Ham on Saturday.

This comes off the back of a 6-0 defeat to Reading in their opening game of the campaign, meaning the young Magpies are now bottom of the Premier League 2 Division 2 table.

Fans bashed Redfearn for being under-qualified earlier this summer, and they’re now shaming the club as a whole for being “rotten to the core”.
