Newcastle fans slam Matt Ritchie after Watford defeat

Newcastle United suffered their fourth successive Premier League defeat as they were beaten 3-0 by Watford at St James Park on Saturday, and Magpies fans weren’t impressed with Matt Ritchie’s performance.

The 28-year-old continued his run of starting every top flight game this term against the Hornets, but he struggled to make a positive impact at both ends of the pitch at the weekend.

The Scotland international is without a goal or assist in his last eight league games, while he struggled to give right-back DeAndre Yedlin the required cover on Saturday as Richarlison and Marvin Zeegelaar dominated on the left side for the visitors, with the latter setting up the first two goals.

Newcastle supporters were quick to have their say on their winger’s display via social media, and while one labelled him a “complete fraud”, another said “don’t think Ritchie is cut out for the Prem”.
