Loads of Newcastle United fans have been slamming Steve Bruce on social media after the Chronicle reported the Toon boss has demanded that every player and back-room member gives their support to Joelinton for the Brazilian to find his feet.

The summer arrival from TSG Hoffenheim has scored just once for the Magpies since his £40million switch, and is without a successful strike to his name in his last seven appearances.

Bruce is confident that Joelinton can be a success in the Premier League, though, and has pleaded with his players to up their game in order to provide the Brazilian with the support he needs.

"What he needs is everybody's help and everybody's support and he will be fine," Bruce said. "He is willing and capable. Let's hope that goal comes soon."

Joelinton is also said to have struggled adjusting to life on Tyneside since arriving from Germany.

"No matter what your price tag is, it takes time to adjust, especially when you are young like Joe," Bruce added. "Like all strikers, they need a goal, you've seen against Spurs when he scored, he was a different proposition after it. He needs like all strikers to score."

Lots of Newcastle fans have not taken Bruce's demands well, however, with many taking to social media to suggest the Toon boss is the man responsible for ensuring Joelinton begins firing on all cylinders.

A key suggestion raised has been to get Allan Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almiron to provide a better service to the 23-year-old, as the pair have thus far created just seven and five key balls respectively in the Premier League this season.

Joelinton has also only managed two shots in his last four top-flight appearances, and last fashioned an effort on target against Tottenham in August.
