Newcastle United fans have been left split on striker Joelinton after his performance against Oxford United in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The Premier League club hosted League One opposition on Saturday but were unable to find a way through against Karl Robinson’s side and were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Joelinton led the line for Bruce’s team and had two goals ruled out thanks to the offside flag; Newcastle had just four shots on target throughout the game, despite having 62% of the ball, per BBC Sport.

One miss saw him sky the ball from close-range as it sat up for a half-volley and some fans have slammed his display.

Who the heck is that?! Can you name all 25 of these obscure Newcastle signings...

However, some others believe that the 23-year-old was starved of service throughout the encounter and left to subsist on scraps.

Nevertheless, the striker has struggled throughout this season, scoring just twice in 27 outings.

The two sides will both be in the hat for the sixth round but a replay will be needed to decide whether Newcastle or Oxford progress.

Meanwhile, Newcastle fans have reacted to their new boy's performance.
