Newcastle fans want club to cash in on Armstrong

Adam Armstrong has been called up the England Under-21 side for the first time, but Newcastle fans do not want the young striker back next season.

Newcastle will reportedly be open to offers for Adam Armstrong this summer, despite the striker’s impressive loan spell with Blackburn.

The Magpies are of course desperate for a new goalscorer this summer, but it seems the 21 year-old is not the answer, and fans are all in agreement with the decision.

Local players like Armstrong are often given the benefit of the doubt from fans even if they are lacking in quality, but the striker has clearly not done enough to convince fans he deserves a chance.

The pacey youngster has earned his England call-up with nine goals in 17 League One starts for Blackburn, but his previous loan spells with Barnsley and Bolton were major disappointments.

The fact that Armstrong’s two successful loan spells (Coventry and Blackburn) have come in League One says all fans need to know it seems, and they all agree it’s the right decision to cash in on the youngster.
