Newcastle fans are starting to wonder if it’s a mistake to let Aleksandar Mitrovic leave, after the striker scored a hat trick on international duty with Serbia.
It seems to have been abundantly clear since January that Newcastle’s Mitrovic has no future on Tyneside, but that’s starting to look like a big mistake from Rafael Benitez.
The feisty striker is undoubtedly the most natural number nine in the Magpies’ current squad, but his work rate and attitude have been questioned on plenty of occasions, and he has seemingly been at odds with Benitez for quite some time.

The Spanish magician hasn’t done much wrong since taking over on Tyneside, but his January decision to send the striker on loan and bring in an injured Islam Slimani is starting to look more and more bizarre.
After grabbing 12 Championship goals with Fulham, Mitrovic scored a wonderful hat trick in his country’s 5-1 win over Bolivia on Saturday, and the third strike was really special.
That is now 24 goals in his last 26 games for club and country, and fans are starting to feel they could save a lot of money this summer by giving “Mitro” another chance.

Hmmm. Mitro or Joselu?
It's a no brainer in every single department but Rafa doesn't rate him.

Keep it’s a no brainier, he’s under contract scoring goals, why gamble £20 mil + on a striker probably not as good as mitro give him a season then decide

The thing that sone fans maybe aren’t factoring into this is that TOP strikers don’t come to teams outside the top 6. His form must be making Rafa think. For me, you sell Gayle and bring in another decent striker to compete with Mitro.

Said from the start..this lad needs a chance up top for us. He will get goals and causes mayhem with cb’s

Any other club would keep him. We will just take the money as per and spend half it on a unproven lad from abroad.

100 percent keep. We’re now being linked to Rondon apparently ……I’d much rather have MITRO!

Mitrovic has proved he can score 15-20 goals a season of late, selling him for £20 million in today’s market is tantamount to giving him away ?

100% keep. Yes he was a hot headed striker but hes learnt from it. Better then any striker at the club. An old fashioned striker. Not many like that around anymore.
