Andy Carroll could be in line for a shock return to Newcastle United as he is believed to be a summer target for Alan Pardew.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reportedly told Carroll he is not part of his plans at Anfield.
According to reports in the Newcastle Chronicle Pardew is keen to bring the 24-year-old striker back to St James’ Park at the end of the season.
Carroll joined Liverpool from Newcastle for £35m in the 2011 Premier League January transfer window, but failed to establish himself in the Reds’ first team.
The Magpies attempted to bring the England International back on loan in the summer, but he ended up joining West Ham United.
