Newcastle are one of four teams reportedly chasing a deal for soon-to-be free agent Yacine Brahimi.

What's the word?

According to A Bola (via Sport Witness), Newcastle, Everton and West Ham are all rivalling AC Milan for Brahimi’s signature.

The 28 year-old Algerian international, who plays as a winger for FC Porto, will be out of contract at the end of this season.

He has shown absolutely no signs of penning a new deal with the Portuguese outfit, and his speed, skill and end product could set the Premier League alight.

With no transfer fee to worry about, Brahimi will have his pick of the litter when those four clubs come calling, but if he values football over money, he’d be foolish to turn down a guaranteed starting place at St. James’ Park.

The perfect pairing?

With all due respect to the likes of Matt Ritchie, Christian Atsu and Chelsea loanee Kenedy, none of them have the tenaciousness, trickery or clinical edge that Brahimi possesses.

The 45-cap ace has scored 50 times and added 40 assists in 197 appearances for Porto, with nine goals and six assists so far in this campaign.

The Magpies have of course recently secured a record-breaking deal for Miguel Almiron, and playing both Brahimi and the Paraguayan international just off of Salomon Rondon could cause absolute mayhem.

The closest comparison one could make about Brahimi is probably to Hatem Ben Arfa, as the Porto attacker is more than capable of dancing past multiple defenders at a time.

If Rafael Benitez could convince Brahimi to join as a free agent this summer, then Newcastle’s attack would be good enough to match their defence for the first time in Rafa's reign.
